I got this message on my inbox: “I applied for a job at CARE International Kenya as a Project Officer and I was shortlisted for an interview. I fear that I might ask for less or more salary and miss out on the opportunity. Please do research for me and let me know how much money the company pays workers”.
Answer.
As a Program Officer, CARE International Kenya will pay you a starting salary of Ksh 89,000 to Ksh 110,000 per month. This is usually a salary paid to fresh graduate with zero or at most 2 years of experience. If your experience spans 3-5 years, you will earn Ksh 150,000 to Ksh 200,000 per month.
CARE is an NGO and they get good funding for their operations. Don’t ask for less than Ksh 70,000 per month because that will be way below the salary they pay.
