List of courses and admission requirements

Certificate in Tax Administration

KCSE Certificate with a minimum aggregate of C- (Minus) with D+ in Mathematics and English

Certificate in Customs Administration

KCSE Certificate with a minimum aggregate of C- (Minus) with D+ in Mathematics and English

Certificate in customs and freight logistics

KCSE Certificate with a minimum aggregate of C (minus)

Diploma in Tax Administration

KCSE Certificate with a minimum aggregate of C (Plain) with C- in Mathematics and English

Diploma in CUSTOMS ADMINISTRATION

KCSE Certificate with a minimum aggregate of C (Plain) with C- in Mathematics and English.

Diploma in Maritime Transport Logistics

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with an average mean grade of C (Minus)

  • Equivalent qualifications as determined by Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) and Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA)

Diploma in customs and freight logistics

The Academic Requirement for admission is KCSE Mean grade of C.

Course Fees

The total course fees will be KShs. 200,000, which will be paid per semester (KShs. 50,000 for each semester).

Exemptions

Graduates of CC&FL (formerly EACFFPC) may be exempted the following units, subject to them fulfilling the requirements in the KESRA exemption policy:

  1. Communication and Employability Skills
  2. Tariff Classification of Goods
  3. Health, Safety and Security in Freight Logistics
  4. Rules of Origin
  5. Customs Valuation
  6. Customs Clearance of Cargo
  7. Customs Management Systems

Postgraduate Diploma in Tax Administration

A holder of a Bachelor’s Degree (with at least 2nd class Honors, Lower division) in any discipline from a University or Institution recognized by the commission for University Education (CUE).

Postgraduate Diploma in Customs Administration

A holder of a Bachelor’s Degree (with at least 2nd class Honors, Lower division) in any discipline from a University or Institution recognized by the commission for University Education (CUE).

Advanced Diploma in Tax Administration

To enrol, candidates should possess: A Bachelor’s Degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Any other relevant Professional Course.

Advanced Diploma in Customs Administration

To enrol, candidates should possess: A Bachelor’s Degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Any other relevant Professional Course.

MASTERS IN TAX ADMINISTRATION (with specialization in Tax or Customs)

  • A holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Business related areafrom a University recognized by Commission for university education(CUE) with at least 2nd Upper Division OR
  • A holder of Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline recognized byCommission for university education (CUE) and a PostgraduateDiploma in Economics, Business or related disciplines from aUniversity or an Institution recognized by Moi University Senate OR
  • Applicants with at least 2nd Class Honors, Lower Division arerequired to provide evidence of 2 years work experience.

Fee Structure and payment options

JOINING INSTRUCTIONS /NOTES TO THE APPLICANTS

  1. Application fees

All applicants will be required to pay Kshs2, 000 (Kenyans) or USD 25 (Non-Kenyans) being non refundable application fee as per the bank details below.

  1. Mode of study (Day, Evening or Saturday)

All courses will be conducted at our Mombasa and Nairobi Campuses and please note it’s non-residential.

  1. Fees

The fees payable for Certificate, Diploma, PGD and Masters courses are as below:-

  1. Duration of Study

The course duration for the Certificate course is Six (6) months (2 semesters), Diploma One (1) year (3 semesters), PGD one (1) year (3 semesters) and Masters Two (2) years (Five semesters).

  1. Attendance

Students must attend a minimum of 75% of all lectures, seminars and tutorials, failure to which he/she will not be allowed to register for examinations.
