GSU Officer Recruitment Requirements in Kenya
elow are general eligibility criteria that all applicants must meet:
- Applicants must be Kenyan citizens with a valid national ID.
- Candidates should be between 18 and 28, demonstrating physical and mental fitness.
- A minimum mean grade of D+ in the KCSE examination, with at least a D+ in English or Kiswahili, is required.
- Applicants must be in excellent physical and medical condition and without disabilities.
- Prospective GSU members should have no criminal record or pending criminal charges.
- Female applicants must not be pregnant at the time of application or during the training period.
Also, ensure that you have the following documents ready and scanned for upload:
- A clear copy of your national ID.
- Your KCSE certificate or its equivalent, plus any other relevant educational documents.
- A recent, clear passport-sized photograph.
Recruitment exercise is rigorous. You have to be physically fit, have your academic papers ready and also be connected.
As a new recruit, you will earn Ksh 24,000. The salary will remain constant until you graduate. It is then raised to Ksh 30,000. If you work as a GSU Officer for 3 years, your salary will rise to Ksh 43,000. This is the highest scale for the officers.
Apart from the basic salaries, GSU officers also earn allowances. Majority of them get allowances of Ksh10,000 to Ksh 15,000 per month. This means that if someone’s basic salary is Ksh 40,000, he will earn up to Ksh 55,000 gross salary after allowances are added to the salary.
